Electronic Government Agency (EGA), Thailand yesterday announced the registration of two new domains; data.go.th and apps.go.th, to be an open data and a cloud-based application centre websites for the government.
“The two websites will play important roles to foster the country to be a knowledge based society to enhance social and economic growth as well as improving quality of life,” said Dr Sak Segkhoonthod, President and CEO of the EGA.
This initiative will allow users from citizenry, public and private sector to benefit from the easy accessible portals and the integration of government information available for further optimisation. It will also increase transparency, accountability, and engagement from all sides that will eventually help to transform the government, he added.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of ICT and the EGA have introduced the “Government Website Standard to direct the development of governmental websites into the same direction, especial in the area of contents, recommended features, and information security, according to Dr Segkhoonthod.
